MUSICALLY FED JOINS FORCES FOR 4TH YEAR WITH RECORDING ACADEMY®, GRAMMY AWARDS®, LEVY RESTAURANTS & CRYPTO.COM ARENA TO COMBAT HUNGER
(Phoenix, AZ – 1/30/2024) Musically Fed today announced they are collaborating for the fourth consecutive year with the Recording Academy® and GRAMMY Awards® in their ongoing mission to combat food insecurity and hunger. Throughout the weekend of Music’s Biggest Night®, Musically Fed and their team of volunteers will work with caterer Levy Restaurants to repurpose surplus artist/staff/crew catering from The 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards®, as well as concessions, luxury suites, and the GRAMMY Celebration® after-party. Excess food from the February 2nd MusiCares® Person of the Year gala honoring Jon Bon Jovi will also contribute to this initiative.
“We are so pleased to be partnering again with Musically Fed to repurpose food and beverage from our events,” says Casey Immoor, Director, Production & Event Operations at the Recording Academy. “Their efforts help eliminate waste, drive awareness of food insecurity in our industry, and most importantly, aid people in need. We are so grateful for all the wonderful work they do!”
Musically Fed will then distribute these meals to individuals in need across the Los Angeles area by partnering with local organizations that include The Midnight Mission, the Los Angeles Mission, Good Shepherd Cetner for Homeless Women (Hawkes Residence), ROC ERA, and others.
“Our goal is to restore people to self-sufficiency and combat the issues surrounding homelessness,” says David Prentice, President & CEO of The Midnight Mission. “Musically Fed’s food donations during GRAMMY Week further enable our extensive range of essential services designed to get people off the streets and into productive lives. We are proud to once again partner with Musically Fed and the Recording Academy to feed those who are hungry and without a home."
Musically Fed is celebrated for mobilizing the music industry in the fight against hunger by working with artists, promoters, management, and venues to donate unused event catering to community organizations that feed veterans and people facing homelessness and food insecurity nationwide. Founded in 2016, the Phoenix-based non-profit identifies the opportunities, procures the resources, and coordinates all aspects of food handling, transport, and distribution, making it easy for promoters and performers to leave each city they visit with a lasting positive impact.
The 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards will return to Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, and will broadcast live on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+ at 8-11:30 p.m. ET / 5-8:30 p.m. PT.
