CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — Singer and Rapper Jelly Roll left a lasting impression on fans Friday night as he took to the state at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
His team also made sure that those in need had something to eat this weekend as well.
The Salvation Army of Charleston says that the musicians his team reached out to them to see if they wanted the leftover food that was for the crew and musicians.
Caseworker Vandy Johnson jumped on the opportunity to get the donation. The leftover food will be used to pack meals for the homeless who come to the Salvation Army for help.
“This is a great opportunity to give some of our most vulnerable clients a nice surprise meal in addition to the other food they are given,” Justice said.
The donation was made through the non-profit organization called Musically Fed. The group works with venues and the musicians and promoters- to donate unused backstage meals.
Their goal is to leave each city with a lasting positive impact.
